Health professions students will graduate and start practicing in a world of continually expanding knowledge, research output, and technologies. They will need to navigate their information needs and to be persistent, curious, comfortable with ambiguity, critical and open minded when doing so. They will contribute their own voices to research conversations and work collaboratively with others. Individual program standards, such as LCME Accreditation Standards and Elements, The Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice and The Standards and Required Elements for Accreditation of Physical Therapist Education Programs, recognize these student needs and include statements that address them. Librarians, who typically work as subject liaisons to specific disciplines, are equipped to teach students in these areas.
